This policy explains what information the Nichely browser extension and website ("Nichely", "we") handle and how. Nichely is designed so that your data stays in your own browser.
1. Information we collect
We do not sell or share personal information. To activate Nichely, you enter a name or email address. That name, together with the IP address of the request, is sent to the Nichely administrator through a private Telegram group so the administrator can confirm who is asking for access. After confirmation, the server keeps only the name you entered and a one-way hash of your personal access token, used to recognise your extension and to separate your followed shops from other users'. Pending activation requests expire after 10 minutes and are deleted.
2. Data processed locally
- Settings — your API key, preferences and display options are saved with Chrome storage on your device.
- Public listing data — public listing and shop information (such as title, price, views, favorites, tags, shop sales and location) is requested from the Etsy Open API for the listings you view, and cached locally to reduce API calls.
- History snapshots — view and favorite counts are stored locally over time to calculate 24-hour changes. Snapshots older than 10 days are removed automatically.
- Saved listings and followed shops — listings you save or that match your highlight rules, and shops you choose to follow (with periodic snapshots of their public total sales count), are stored locally so you can review them later.
You can delete all cached data at any time from the extension popup, or by uninstalling the extension.
2a. Data stored on the Nichely server
The extension requests listing statistics through the Nichely server, which holds the Etsy API key so it is never exposed in the extension. The server stores:
- Public listing and shop data returned by the Etsy API for listings that were viewed, with hourly snapshots of views and favorites (kept for up to 30 days).
- The list of shops chosen to be followed, with periodic snapshots of their public total sales count (kept for up to 180 days).
- Search keywords you choose to track, so the server can follow the public listings for those keywords in advance.
- A daily counter of Etsy API requests, used to stay within Etsy rate limits.
Apart from the activation name described above, the server does not store personal information, browsing history, or any Etsy account, buyer or order data. Request URLs are not written to application logs. You can ask us to delete your account at any time by email.
3. Etsy API usage
Nichely only calls public, read-only endpoints of the Etsy Open API v3. It does not request OAuth access to any Etsy account and never reads private data such as buyer information, orders, messages or payments. Data from the API is displayed only to the user who requested it and is not redistributed.
4. Third parties
The extension talks to the Nichely server, which in turn calls the Etsy API. Activation requests are delivered to the administrator via Telegram. Country flag images are loaded from flagcdn.com. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking scripts.
5. Children
Nichely is intended for sellers and is not directed at children under 13.
6. Changes
We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
